Identify the stated objective
A cosmetic finish repair, material restoration and structural repair are different objectives. The proposal should say which one it addresses.
Look for the design responsibility
Where there is a structural question, ask who reviews it and supplies details. A contractor’s surface estimate should not be mistaken for an engineering determination.
Include access and protection
Wall-base work may affect soil, paving and nearby services. Compare these items along with the visible repaired area.
Define the record at completion
Agree on work-stage photos and any required professional review. A finished coating is only one part of the repair record.
Photos help start the review. Access, concealed conditions and required professional review can change the construction scope.
